Sean Whyte Stepping Down, Will Still Coach U18 Team in 2017/18

DYHA would like to wish the best of luck to its Director of Hockey, Sean Whyte in his new endeavors with growing youth hockey.  Although he is stepping down from this position, Coach Whyte will still remain a part of the Jr Sun Devils family, coaching our 18U team and being involved with our ADM program.

During this transition period, we are very proud to announce our new Director of Hockey, who will work hand in hand with Sean over the coming months and continue to grow the program and develop young hockey players as we have traditionally done so for over 40 years.  Brad McCaughey is no stranger to hockey in Arizona.  He has been a coach here for numerous years now, as he has brought along his three sons in the sport.  Not only was Mr. McCaughey a member of the Phoenix Roadrunners in the IHL in the early 90’s, but he was also the Head Coach/General Manager of the Phoenix Mustangs of the WCHL for three seasons.  Brad played his collegiate hockey in his hometown Ann Arbor, Michigan for the University of Michigan, and still remains one of their all time leading scorers.

These are exciting times for DYHA, to not only have Sean Whyte remain with the program, but to also bring on board another great hockey person that will carry on the strong leadership, live the Mission Statement and keep Oceanside a fun, friendly family environment.

Please come introduce yourself to Brad McCaughey when you have a chance, as I am sure he will be eager to get to know all of our wonderful families that make DYHA the place for young hockey players to grow and learn to love the sport!
