Nick is currently the Assistant Hockey Director of the DYHA Jr. Sun Devil’s and head coach of the 15O team. He comes to DYHA with a vast playing and coaching background. After playing youth AAA hockey in Chicago he played in the USHL as a 16-year-old for two years before embarking on a collegiate career at the University of North Dakota. Nick was fortunate enough to represent his country for the U17 and the U18 US National teams. Drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 1992 NHL entry draft, Nick began his college career at North Dakota in the 92-93 season finishing in 95-96 as the all-time leading goal-scoring defenseman in the University of North Dakota history. After his collegiate career, he signed an NHL contract with the St. Louis Blues. He would go on to play 15 seasons as a pro from 1996-2010, finishing his last 4 seasons in the Swiss A-League. Nick played in 4 Spengler Cups for the host team Davos while in Switzerland, winning gold in two of them.

After his playing career, Nick retired from hockey to Scottsdale where he began coaching in 2011. He has coached AAA from the 1993 birth year through the 2003 birth year here in the Valley. He has been privileged to coach players that have gone on to play in the NHL, drafted into the NHL, Division 1 college hockey, Division 3 college hockey, WHL, USHL, NAHL, NCDC, BCHL.

Nick comes from a youth hockey family. His father was a youth hockey coach and Ice rink owner for over 30 years, winning back to back AAA National Championships at the Midget level. He was a pioneer of AAA hockey in the Chicagoland area. His two younger brothers are both entrenched in the youth hockey scene in Chicago to this day. 

He currently resides in North Scottsdale with his wife and 3 kids.

Born In Parma,Ohio Marc has been around hockey nearly his whole life. After Youth and junior hockey Marc spent time in Switzerland playing hockey. After his time in Europe, Marc Immediately jumped into the youth hockey scene with The Cleveland Barons youth hockey club, where he spent 15 seasons with the Barons with Numerous National championship berths. Marc has worked in the industry In all facets of the game. He worked as a tournament director and player advisor. After his move to the Valley Marc continued his commitment to youth hockey in the state of Arizona being named the Hockey Director for the Junior Coyotes hockey program and was fortunate to have tremendous success inside and outside of Arizona. Marc has served as the president of Arizona High School hockey Association, Served multiple terms on the AAHA state board of governors. Marc currently serves as the Executive Director of DYHA/Jr. Sundevils. He has been a coach at USA hockey camps all over the country such as the Western Regional High Performance camp, Other district camps and has annually been Chosen to work the USA National Camps in Buffalo, NY. Marc is also the current assistant general manager for the Omaha Lancers in the USHL.

With 27 years of coaching experience, including 19 years dedicated specifically to hockey-player development, Crystal Roe is a power skating coach and technical skating specialist committed to developing complete, confident players. She also brings 19+ years of experience in off-ice training and player development.

Crystal is the founder and head coach of Crystal’s Precision Power Skating, Precision Power Health + Fitness, and Precision Performance Development Camps. Her comprehensive approach combines power skating, body mechanics, biomechanics, and video analysis with hockey-specific off-ice training, mobility, recovery, and performance nutrition. She is also a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach specializing in sports nutrition, with a background in sports massage therapy, training and rehabilitation principles.

Throughout her career, Crystal has worked with players from all over and teams across Arizona’s Tier I program and Tier II travel hockey organizations. Her experience ranges from helping beginners establish strong skating foundations to developing elite youth, high school, collegiate, and Major Junior athletes. Her individualized, long-term approach to development has earned recommendations from former NHL players, professional coaches, and hockey families.

Crystal believes player development goes far beyond simply completing a drill. Her goal is to help players understand how and why their bodies move, feel the correct application of pressure and technique, and confidently transfer those skills into game situations. She looks forward to continuing to support Arizona’s hockey community and helping each player develop the skills and confidence needed to reach their goals.
